Update (August 2023): We are pleased to announce that we now back up all website plans every 4 hours, rather than once a day.
On our DirectAdmin servers, we backup your data to an encrypted storage vault every day, free of charge.
We back up the following data:
- Your Home Directory Contents
- Your Databases
- Any Database Users
- Your Email Accounts and Contents
- FTP Accounts
- Cron Jobs
- DNS Zones and Entries
- SSL Certificates*
We run an incremental backup structure, this means we only backup files that have changed since the last full backup.
If you have a premium hosting plan, you may have more frequent backups. Check your plan details for more information.
* Note that Let's Encrypt SSL Certificates are not backed up. These can be easily recreated in the event of data loss.
We keep 30 days of Account Data. After this, the backup data is permanently purged from our servers and cannot be retrieved. If you would like us to backup your data for longer, please contact us and we will discuss options/pricing with you.
As with all backup solutions that we offer, these operate on a 'best-effort' basis and cannot be guaranteed. You are advised to also take your own backups if you are hosting critical data.
How to access my Backups
You can access your backups by logging into your Control Panel and selecting 'Extra Features', then 'JetBackup':
You will then be able to view all the backups we are currently holding for your account. It's very easy and quick to restore data from backup, but please contact us if you are unsure and require assistance.
