At Zarro Hosting, we understand the importance of protecting our clients' data. To that end, we offer backup services to our clients. Our backup policy is designed to ensure the availability and integrity of client data.

  1. Backup Schedule

We perform daily backups of all client data on a best-effort basis. We retain 31 days' worth of data on our web hosting plans, with the most recent backup available for restoration.*

Our backups are stored at a separate datacenter to provide redundancy and are encrypted in transit.

  1. Data Retention

We retain client backups for 31 days on a best-effort basis on our web hosting plans. While we make every effort to ensure the availability and integrity of backups, we cannot guarantee that all backups will be available at all times.*

  1. Backup Restoration

Clients can request a backup restoration by contacting our support team or by using the self-service panel. We will make every effort to restore the requested data from the available backups.

Backups are stored within the UK, but at another datacenter. As such, restoration times may be slower due to the bandwidth requirements. 

  1. Data Exclusions

We do not include the following data in our backups:

a. Any data that is not stored on our servers, such as data stored on a client's local computer.

b. Any data that is not part of the client's account, such as data stored on a shared server.

c. Any data that is excluded by the client due to privacy concerns or other reasons.

  1. Disclaimer

While we make every effort to ensure the availability and integrity of backups, we cannot guarantee the completeness, accuracy, or reliability of backups. Clients are responsible for maintaining their own backups of critical data.

Please note that we do not permit users taking backups on DirectAdmin to local disk. We encourage clients to keep their own backups, and this can be achieved with the DirectAdmin to FTP backup system. Creating regular backups to local disk can cause excessive disk usage on our hosting servers, with no benefit (accounts are already backed up to another datacenter and available for self-service restore through the JetBackup interface). 

  1. Policy Changes

We reserve the right to modify this backup policy at any time. We will provide notice of any changes to the policy on our website.

Note that our VPS Server backup plans have a free backup plan of 3 stored snapshots, spanning 3 days with daily rotation. This is an opt-in plan and is not included by default.
